Ulmia Model 354. blade length 750mm (29 1/2″), cutting height 120mm (4 11/16″), kerf at 90 degrees 220mm (8 5/8″), kerf at 45 degrees 160mm (6 1/4″).The Ulmia Miter Box Saw is without equal in quality and accuracy. The heavy cast iron table and pivot rail are joined by a large steel pivot pin. The pivot rail has a spring mounted setting pawl which solidly engages the machined detents for setting 90, 45, 36, 30, and 22.5 degree angles on both sides of the blade. Other angles may be fixed by setting with template and tightening a small hex bolt at the rear of the table. There are no angle markings on the saw table. Four nickel plated bars are pressed into the pivot rail to support and guide the “guide-pushers” which guide the buck saw blade. The buck saw is a highly stable and lightweight design composed of a burnished tension rod, galvanized reinforcing tube, steel saw arm, aluminum handle with plastic grip. Two different blades are available and can be changed quickly with the oversized wing nut at the base of the handle. The saw is shipped with the 10tpi wood blade. Also available is a 25tpi metal cutting blade. The included length adjuster is easy to use and adjust for repeat cuts. The footboard made of steamed Red Beech allows the saw to be mounted on the workbench by means of bench dogs or other clamps.Important notes: To achieve absolutely precise cuts, the buck saw should be guided downwards during sawing, particularly when making the initial sawing strokes, without exerting pressure and at the same time the stock pressed manually against the back panel of the saw table. The reason that a clamping fixture has been dispensed with for the stock is that the repeatedly occurring warp of wooden profiles changes its original position as a result of being clamped. After sawing and releasing the clamp it returns to its original position, so that the resulting miter angle is incorrect. This saw is completely rebuildable. A complete selection of spare parts are available, the more common ones are kept in stock. Guide pushers on this saw are aluminum. This saw is a miter-only saw and will not make compound (angle plus bevel) cuts. Please feel free to call if you have questions. 1 800 454-8665. -Chris
